Technical Tours

Date: Tuesday, June 23 and Wednesday, June 24, 2022

Maximum Capacity: 20 participants per day

Tour Cost: $25.00 per person, per day

Restrictions: Attendees must register for this tour at least 30 days in advance by providing full name, date of birth, and driver’s license number or state identification number. Foreign nationals are permitted to attend the tour, but must provide their passport number, expiration date, and country of origin when registering for the tour, and have their passport with them to enter the Navy base.

Requirements for the Ship Tour: All participants must be in flat, closed-toe shoes. Ladies must be in pants or long shorts (no skirts or dresses); hands must be free to grab the railings on the ship. All who take this tour must be healthy enough to handle climbing up and down steep stairs and be able to walk safely on industrial surfaces such as grid plates. You will be able to bring your camera, but can only take photographs when instructed by the ship’s tour personnel.

USS Navy Ship Tour: You will have the opportunity to climb aboard one of the Navy’s 11 ships in Pearl Harbor. This insider’s tour of a U.S. Naval Vessel includes key areas aboard the ship, including the bridge. It highlights the various weapon and combat systems, their consistent environmental efforts, and the key engineering components to the operation of this modern-day warship vessel.

NSST Tour and Interactive Demonstration: The Navy’s new Navigation, Seamanship, and Shiphandling Trainer on Ford Island opened March 14, 2007. The trainer is operated by Afloat Training Group Middle Pacific and features a state-of-the-art bridge simulator to train Navy ship crews using virtual technology. The NSST bridge design replicates the environment found on a bridge on a U.S. Navy ship. This system will eventually be used in all Navy fleet concentration centers.
