Description

The University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UT), is a top research-oriented State university with programs in many areas of science and engineering. It now operates Oak Ridge National Laboratory in partnership with Battelle. Its major research programs in technical areas include materials science and engineering, computational sciences and robotics, plant science, biofuels, microbiology, and environmental science. Tours will provide an overview of the research going on at UT, with potential locations to include the following:

Schedule

2 p.m.—Depart Convention Center
2:30 p.m.—Tour of Department of Biosystems Engineering and Soil Science at the UT Agriculture Campus (UT Biofuels Initiative/Bioprocessing)
3:30 p.m.—Depart UT Agriculture Campus
4 p.m.—Tour of Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (Distributed Intelligence Laboratory/Robotics)
5 p.m.—Depart UT Campus
5:30 p.m.—Arrive at Convention Center
