OAK RIDGE NATIONAL LABORATORY

Restrictions: Attendees must register for this tour at least 30 days in advance by providing full name, date of birth, citizenship, and country of birth. People born in the defined “terrorist sensitive” countries (Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria) will not be able to participate in the tour. Attendees must wear their conference badges on the tour.

Description

Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is one of the premier research and development facilities in the country, funded primarily by the U.S. Department of Energy and managed by UT-Battelle LLC. ORNL operates 20 user facilities in various areas of science and engineering, and these facilities are available for use by researchers across the country. Its primary research programs are in areas of neutron science, nanoscience, high-performance computing, biosciences, energy technologies, national security, and nuclear physics. Tour participants will hear an overview of laboratory programs and then tour two of the newest user facilities in addition to visiting the site of the world’s first reactor.

5:45 p.m.—Arrive at Convention Center
